Come Sing With Us!

Please note: Mr. Brad Peterson, after nine years with the choir, resigned as musical director following the 1 May 2010 concert to pursue other priorities.  You may view Brad Peterson's "bio" at the Director link on the left.

If you have any interest in potentially directing this large choir, please contact us via email at the Contact Us link on the left.  Additional application information will be forthcoming on this web site.

Soli Deo Gloria is open to adults without audition.  Some singing experience and sight-reading skills are very helpful.  Our upcoming Spring Concert will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 1, 2010, at First United Methodist Church.  Our concerts are free... a gift to the community.  We ask attendees to bring one or more nonperishable food items for Care & Share.   There is a freewill offering during the concert.

Rehearsals for our current season will begin on January 11, 2010, with registration starting at 6:15 PM. We rehearse Monday nights from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM in the Banquet Hall in the basement of First United Methodist Church , 420 North Nevada Avenue downtown. To sing this semester, you will need to join (pay dues and purchased music) by the conclusion of the second rehearsal, January 18, 2010.  We accept new members at the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester. Email us at our new email address solideogloriacs@hotmail.com with any questions.  To be included in our regular email announcements to members that will include concert information and other musical notes of interest, please complete the information in the box on the left of this page.  We look forward to the possibility of you joining us at our next concert or in the future as a member of Soli Deo Gloria!

What does it cost?   Registration for the fall: $35 for dues for the semester and $25 for music to total $60.  Or you can save $5 by also preregistering for the spring semester at the same time for an extra $30 or a total of $90.  Dues for one semester are $35.  New members may have their first semester dues fee waived, since they will be purchasing performance attire in their first season.  See the Handbook for performance attire and other details.

Our Mission

Soli Deo Gloria provides its members an opportunity to sing sacred classical choral works and to provide the community free, professional quality concerts dedicated to the glory of God.

Soli Deo Gloria Choir is a nondenominational, non-auditioned choir open to any member of the community on a first-come, first-served basis.

We gratefully accept donations!

The Soli Deo Gloria Choir is a nonprofit organization supported only by fees paid by each choir member, member-generated fund raising activities, and donations.  Your tax deductible donations are greatly appreciated and allow us to produce larger works that require orchestral support (since professional orchestra members must be paid for their time and effort).  Our meager budget also pays for rehearsal and performance space, score rental fees, programs, and administrative expenses.

You can easily and safely donate on-line by clicking on the link on the left side of this page.  You will receive an email receipt for your tax files in the process. Thanks for your support!
