Page Turner Volunteers Needed!

As our wonderful accompanist, Judy Westcott, so succinctly put it last week, "Some of this music has a lot of notes." Because she only has 10 fingers to cover all those notes, she needs volunteers to turn pages so that she can play them all.

You DO NOT have to be able to read music to do this. You DO have to pay attention to her and to the music. Judy gives clear instruction about when the page needs to be turned, with either the word "turn" or a large nod of the head.

The one thing she asked is that you refrain from singing while turning pages. Because it is a lot to ask to give up an entire rehearsal to turn pages, we are asking for folks to turn for just half of the rehearsal. This means we need 2 volunteers per rehearsal.

Please consider how much Judy's playing contributes to our learning of the music, and give your time to help everyone. Contact Mike Dienst, Juliette Frederick or Judy before announcements on the evening of your contribution.

 Thank you all very much!

In The Spirit of Christmas...
Since our fall semester program is a combination of music and the spoken word, Brad is still interested in hearing from members who know of meaningful or fun stories or poems in the spirit of Christmas.  If you are having difficulty coming  up with something, please review the lyrics or the history of the music we are singing. There is undoubtedly food for thought waiting to be harvested!

 Advertising Pays for Program

The ads that we members sell to merchants and service providers in our community pay for our concert programs. If we all sell one ad, it's a breeze. Please consider placing an ad for your own business and/or speaking with folks in your area about placing an ad. It can be as simple as a business card and a check. Please see the Soli website (www.solideogloriacs.org) for ad prices and deadlines or speak to Susan Ramsay, our ad coordinator. Showing a program from  a previous concert lets people know exactly how their money is being spent.

Computer Glich Slows Nametags

A computer problem has slowed the production of this year's nametags, but they are on their way. Thanks for your patience.

And Thanks To...

Juliette Frederick's husband Tony, for the new hole punch. This is a tool we don't realize the importance of until we need it!

Dave Kucera for donating a new microphone stand. No more wobbles!

Misguided Man Asked To Leave Rehearsal Area

At a recent rehearsal, a man who is not a member of Soli caused  a few minutes of confusion.  If you encounter anyone during rehearsal time who is disruptive, please do not handle this situation yourself. Mike Dienst, Terry Brubaker or Dave Kucera should be notified immediately to rectify the situation.
