VP Juliette Frederick Volunteers For Concert Program Task

A big thank you to Juliette Frederick for volunteering to take on the concert program job! She is building a 'how-to' notebook so that future volunteers have a good base from which to work. Please get your ads to Juliette or Susan Ramsay (or any board member) as soon as possible before the Nov. 16 deadline. The juggling of the ads in the copy is one of the most time consuming parts of this job, so let's all give Juliette as much help as we can by getting the ads to her ASAP.

 Advertising Pays for Program

The ads that we members sell to merchants and service providers in our community pay for our concert programs. If we all sell one ad, it's a breeze. Please consider placing an ad for your own business and/or speaking with folks in your area about placing an ad. It can be as simple as a business card and a check.  Showing a program from  a previous concert lets people know exactly how their money is being spent.

Terry has uploaded a new advertising form to our website (www.solideogloriacs.org) -please include it with payment to Susan Ramsay by   November 16,2009. (This date is absolute.)

Here are the rates:
Business card size- horz. only (1/8 page-2.75"x4.25" or 2.125"x5.5") - $30
1/4 page  (4.25"x5.5") - vertical only - $55
1/2 page (5.5"x8.5") - vertical only - $100
Full page (8.5"x11") - vertical only - $150

Ads must be camera ready, black and white. Please see the Soli website for valuable tips.
Butter Braids Bonanza!
The sale of Butter Braids by you, the members, brought over $1400 needed dollars to Soli's budget. Thanks to everyone who contributed, and to Marie Suter for her continuing dedication to this fundraiser.

Have You Heard?

Thank you to Aleta Duvall who sent this audio file link to Stephen Main's The Darkest Midnight in December. http://www.waltonmusic.com/Sound13/TheDarkestMidnight/

SHIRTS MAKE THE MEMBER

Well, not really, but we are selling them again as a fundraiser and to broaden public awareness of our wonderful choir. There will be a photo and more info in the next newsletter.

Got Fundraising Ideas?

Soli needs to constantly replentish it's coffers. Do you know of a fundraiser that might work for us? Please let a board member know about it. We are good about generating a cash flow within the choir, but we need to bring monies in from outside of the choir as well. Butter Braids is our biggie from that perspective, but more ideas are needed. Concert programs can run $1800-$2500, and score rentals and instrumentalists from $1,000-$10,000, depending upon the configuration needed.  Thanks for giving this some thought.
