GREETINGS SOLI MEMBERS
6 February 2010
| IMPORTANT SCHEDULE REMINDER
We WILL be practicing on President’s Day, February 15. |
| AIR FORCE ACADEMY OUTREACH
The Air Force Academy has invited us to sing the National Anthem and the Academy's alma mater at a sporting event on Sunday, February 14, 2010. Rehearsal for the music will be the 15 minutes following our regular rehearsal on February 1 and February 8. (9:30-9:45 PM).
Attire for the February 14th event is nice but casual -- NO Soli dresses or tuxes. Brad would like to meet at the North Gate Guard Shack at 12:45 PM so that everyone can drive in together. Car pooling would be a great help if possible. Here’s the itinerary for the event:
1:00 – 1:30 PM – Arrive at Clune Arena
2:00 PM – National Anthem performance
Approximately 3:45 PM (Post-Game) – Air Force Alma Mater Performance (Third Verse)
There will be a reserved section of bleachers for choir members in the South end zone of Clune Arena. We will be sitting directly behind the Air Force bench.

| BUTTER BRAID SALE
The Butter Braids/Cookie Dough sale will start on March 1 and orders and money should be turned in by March 15. Cookies and Butter Braids will be delivered at practice on March 29. The sale of Butter Braids has proven to be a great fund raiser for us. We make $4.00 on every Braid or Cookie Dough. If you prefer, donations of $10.00, the price of the Braids or Cookie Dough, are gladly accepted. Prizes will be awarded for the people with the 3 highest total sales. |
| PROGRAM AD SALES
It’s time to start thinking about selling ads for the Spring Concert program. The money we raise from ads helps offset the printing costs for the program. Think about all the places you go in the course of a week – doctor, veterinarian, beauty shop, barber, church. How about business contacts such as your real estate agent or insurance agent? Or maybe the scouting troop for one of your kids would like to take out an ad. The copy for each ad must be camera ready. If you are given a business card as the original copy, it will be hard to make it work for an ad bigger than 1/8 of a page. For more information on quality copy see the camera-ready tips on the Soli website. |
