| SOLI CHOIR ANNUAL MEMBERS' MEETING
The choir's annual meeting was held on Monday, April 19th.
We elected elected five new board members, Chris Bjork, Karen VanDyke, Laura Kelecy, Tom O'Hearn, and Tim Winkelbauer, to serve a two-year term. Kris Olson and Karen Brown were elected to complete the second year of the terms for board members who are leaving the board. Thanks to all of these members for stepping forward to help and keep our choir strong.
Members who are retiring from the board include Juliette Fredericks, Marsha Garcia, Stephanie Stachitus, Mike Dienst, Dave Kucera, and Susan Ramsay. We thank you for your time and all the hard work you've put into the board during your terms of service.
A motion was made to consider purchasing insurance coverage to protect board and choir members from legal action arising out of their volunteer activities for the choir. The membership agreed to consider the insurance. Purchase of the insurance has not yet been approved.
The membership also voted to approve an increase in dues from $35 to $40 per semester. |
| ASSISTANCE NEEDED FOR THE CONCERT
Thanks to everyone who signed up to help with ushering at the concert on Saturday. We have enough ushers to station people at the exits with donation plates (as we will have no intermission for the Requiem.) However we still need a clean up crew to help move the altar, baptismal font etc. back in place following the concert. Please let Lew know if you are able to help us out. |
| LAST WEEK TO BUY TEXAS ROADHOUSE COUPONS
The coupons for $5.00 off a meal at the Texas Roadhouse Steakhouse on 8th Street will be on sale one last time at practice on Monday. They are available for $3.00 each. All proceeds for the sale of the coupons go to Soli where they will be used to defer the costs of hiring an orchestra for our concert. |
| ORDER FORMS AVAILABLE FOR THE SPRING CONCERT CD
Dave Kucera will be distributing order forms for CDs of our May 1 Brahms German Requiem Concert. If you'd like to order one, please fill out forms with your payment attached and place them in the clear plastic box on the back table. The price is the same as last season: $15.00 per CD; $3.00 shipping for the first CD; $1.00 shipping for each additional CD mailed to the same address. The prices shown on the order form reflect the shipping cost included for your convenience. |
| DO YOU HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO INCLUDE IN NEWS AND NOTES?
If any Soli member has an announcement that they'd like to include in the News and Notes (requests for prayers, musical events, etc), please send your suggestions to either Juliette Frederick at juliette49@yahoo.com or to Mike Dienst at MEAD125@aol.com.
