GREETINGS TO ALL OUR SOLI MEMBERS

2010-06-24

Greetings from the Board

The summer was a busy one for the Soli volunteers. Members volunteered their time, energy and money to work over the summer. The Soli board’s work began the Monday after our May concert and there was a great deal of work to accomplish in less than three months.

Every agenda for the board has been long. No one complained about the long agendas that led to our going home later than we would have liked. Everyone has taken a job to do on the board and is working toward doing the best they can with the job they agreed to oversee. Even though every “normal” job had been filled, we had new tasks that were going to require more volunteers and board members to get it started. The toughest job was the Music Director search. Terry Brubaker, a member of the board, volunteered to spearhead the Music Director search. Another board member, Kris Olson, also agreed to be on the search committee. The race to find a Music Director in a timely manner was on. Just 48 days after the director search committee met for the first time, the committee presented the Soli board with their recommendation for Music Director, Ray Killian. Just a few days later Ray presented the board with two possible programs for our Christmas concert. Read on to discover what the program will be. We hope you'll be pleased with the selections made.

We sincerely hope your summer was a good one. See you in September.
