News and Notes for September 10, 2011
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Many thanks to all who have pre-registered, we have your name on our list and you are guaranteed a spot. At the moment there are several spots open in each section. The sections will be limited to the following:
Soprano I - 20
Soprano II - 20
Alto I - 20
Alto II - 20
Tenor - 25
Bass- 25
Total number of singers-130
Pre-registration will end Sunday. If you still need to register send an email to solideogloriacs@hotmail.com giving us your name and voice part. .
If you are wondering about the sections being limited, this came from an April 9, 2000 notice that was approved by that board limiting the number of singers in each section as well as how absences would be handled. This notice also stated that a director has the prerogative to admit a member if a section is full.
The registration form is ready for you to print from the web site. We will also have them available Monday evening.

MUSIC DIRECTOR CHANGES:
Ray Killan resigned as Music Director on Monday, August 22. We wish him well with good health in his musical endeavors.
Ed Ladouceur, Soli Director 1994-1999, has agreed to be our Interim Music Director for the Fall term only. We will proceed immediately with a search for a permanent Music Director.
REHEARSALS BEGIN:
First rehearsal is Monday Sept. 12, 2011. Registration starts at 6:00 pm, followed by announcements at 6:45pm. The concert is Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 @ 7pm at First United Methodist Church.If you already have the Poulenc Gloria, Salabert Edition, you will not be required to purchase it. For those that do not, we will have the Poulenc available for you to purchase on Monday.
If you already have some of the other music you may use what you already have.
To determine what each of you will need we ask that all members fill out the music inventory sheet on Monday indicating what you already have and check what you need. When the music arrives, we will prepare your packet with your name and the cost of the music you requested. Membership dues: $40.00 Plus….Poulenc-Gloria $10.00All the music: $38.50
MUSIC FOR THIS SEASON:
We have a new program. Thank you for your understanding. With a change in directors some former music was cut and new music has been ordered. Most of that music is on back order. We will have the Poulenc-Gloria available on Monday and First United Methodist Church has been kind enough to lend us some music until ours arrives.
